ABOUT THE ARTIST - I spent 46 years in the aircraft industry. I was in the USAF for 6 years. After my Honorable Discharge, I worked for a couple of aircraft companies for 4 years. I answered a Boeing advertisement requesting mechanics to apply. I started my career in 1989 with Boeing as a mechanic and 30 years later I retired as an Engineering analyst.
Growing up my mother made all kinds of things out of art. We didn't have a lot of money so she would create gifts and presents for any occasion throughout the year. I thought that was very clever and cool. She included me on all of it and I learned everything from her. As soon as I could, I attended art classes in summer school.
In the 5th grade I won a statewide art competition in Illinois that was a campaign to prevent forest fires. Then in the 8th grade I came in 3rd in another statewide competition this time in Arizona celebrating the diversity of color in the animal kingdom. I painted a large painting of a Mandarin fish. To this day it still hangs in the Arizona Meuseum of Art.
As an adult I have done paintings, drawings, carved hiking staffs and family/business signs. After I retired in 2019 I have created and sold many things I have created. Recently most of my business comes from painting pet portraits. As I create more carvings and paintings my gallery will grow.
